The Boeing
707 Electronic Compartment (also known as the "lower 41") is where the
RC9 camera was installed for the high altitude photographic trials. The above
diagram shows the location of the external hatch on the belly of the aeroplane
immediately aft of the nosewheel. The camera mount replaced
the inwards opening hatch.
