An
historic photograph for Brisbane. This photo depicts two Qantas Boeing
707-138s on the ground together at Brisbane. It is believed that this
was the first time that a 707 had visited Brisbane.
VH-EBC (right) and VH-EBB (left) were both diverted to Brisbane on 16th
August 1959 because of unfavourable conditions in Sydney. VH-EBB, which
landed first, is reported to have suffered an engine failure.
Both aircraft had been delivered to Qantas in Sydney only the previous
month.
