Boeing
707-138 VH-EBB taking-off from Nadi, Fiji on its delivery flight to
Sydney on 2 July 1959. Note that although the aircraft wears the Canberra
coat of arms, it is not yet marked as City of Canberra. Despite
appearances to the contrary, logo lights hadn't been invented in 1959.
The bright spot on the fin and rudder is a reflection from the tailplane/elevator.
The runway had been completed just recently, hence the dust. (This photo
was previously thought to depict the landing at Sydney. The caption
was corrected on 12 June 2007)
