This is a picture of the most brilliant machinist that exists in the aviation world. His name is Derek Parrott, another ATC Lasham Ltd employee. His contribution to the health of the rudder most significantly, has enabled us to get over some pretty huge hurdles. He was responsible, with assistance from Fab Romanin, for the drilling of the rudder hinge support bracket attach holes in the brand new blank casting, a job of the greatest criticality. This bracket takes all the loads imposed by the rudder PCU. He has made us so many bits and pieces to adapt, align, replace or improve and he does it in record time and with humility. We honoured Derek by inviting him to add his signature to the fin base before it went up, in which place he will be recorded for posterity. This image was taken on 30 October 2006 just after he had signed the fin.
